On the last Saturday of March every year, Earth Hour is celebrated, a global campaign promoted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that invites citizens, municipalities, companies and any group to turn off the lights for one hour as a symbol of the fight against climate change.
This small gesture arose in Sydney on March 31, 2007 and since then it has become the campaign that has mobilized more people in favor of the same cause, getting more than 7000 cities and towns in 160 countries to join this important awareness-raising action. This year is especially important because next December, governments from all over the world will meet at the Paris Climate Summit to reach a global climate agreement that guarantees a considerable reduction in emissions.
PROTISA maintains a firm commitment to environmental protection and will join the ninth edition of the ‘Earth Hour’ by turning off the lights on March 28, 2015 between 20:30 and 21:30. From our organization we encourage citizens and companies to do their bit to be part of this global movement. You can find out how to do it through the website that WWF enables each year for this initiative www.horadelplaneta.es.
